Hi everyone, my name is Diego and I’ve been reading and learning from personal development books since 1999, in particular financial success books. Back then my wife convinced me to read a book called Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki and I was hooked. Since then I’ve read hundreds of books, some great, some not so great but I’ve continued to learn from anyone who is successful and willing to share their knowledge.
The reason I started this site is to help anyone who like myself is interested in growing financially. I’ll do this by sharing my views on the books I’ve read and my personal experiences in applying the information so that you can decide whether reading this book will help you to achieve your financial goals.
Also if I write about anything that you are interested in and you feel like getting involved in a conversation feel free to leave a comment. I love to talk about money, investing, business, sales and anything related so feel free to give me any feedback on anything I write.
A bit of my history…
I was born in Uruguay and when I was 12 years old my family moved to Australia, for which I’m extremely grateful. I’ve always loved reading books and learning but I didn’t really have much direction in life until I met my wife in my mid twenties and got married 6 years later. Suddenly I had a reason to do more than just get up, go to work, pay bills and party on the weekend.
To me, success is doing what you like when you like as long as you’re not causing harm to anyone else, but to do that you need money. Now if you grew up with a poor mindset like I did you need to change the way you think about money & success before anything will change in the outside world. This is where books are great because you can learn how rich people think and start to apply some of that knowledge in your life.
I’ve made money and I’ve lost money putting into practice some of the things I’ve learnt since 1999 from personal finance books. But without a financial education I would have never had the courage to try anything. Investing in your financial education will give you the confidence to step out of your comfort zone and see what’s possible.
I hope that the “self help books” that I review on this site help you to achieve your goals. Always remember knowledge is not power, applied knowledge is what counts so make sure you take action after you learn from reading. Feel free to leave any comments and to let me know what you think any time you like.
All the best. Cheers
